'Cause it kinda fits ever since I first bumped into it.

The problem here is that I like the theme of this topic, and all of my other characters have a theme song, but I just can't seem to find one for her!

I have several songs that inspired me upon creating Eihrissa, and thus can be referred to as "theme songs". They all carry a certain Middle Eastern touch to them, be it Islamic or Jewish. I also have a Native American one, for while the Middle Eastern touch is dominant, I took some traits from those tribes as well upon her creation. (chose not to include it in this musical "chronology")

This is one of my personal favourite songs of all time, by what is possibly my favourite artist of all time. It is perhaps not illustrative of Eihrissa in particular, but it has some Middle Eastern (particularly Turkish) instruments employed, and I tend to think of the simple, nomadic society in which Eihrissa dwelled during the course of her childhood when I hear it.

This thread is brilliant. Nothing enhances a character like music does.

Ewy: Lovely song chosen for Ewy; the lyrics are wonderful. Though I do feel it shows a side of her that isn't frequently seen in RP. A dreamer-Ewyllyn? Maybe I see her too much through Eyre's eyes!

Eihrissa: I can't quite associate the Ebontop with the song by The Pogues, even if I liked the song. She somewhat comes off as more delicate than that.

Elcia's past is hardly anything nice. The world has been harsh to her time and time again. I feel that this song shows that. But where she is now is a good place where people accept her even though she is clumsy and absent minded and I think that this song shows that too.

Cedric is a man who is a lot like Elcia. His past is one he is not proud of. He places all of his effort into the aid of others and usually ends up without any time of his own. Whenever he hits a wall he continues past it and does not let the trivial minorities distract from the problem at hand. The song I chose for him expresses his endless drive. (I chose the vid that is an AMV of an anime series that is so good that when I was done watching it I was physically depressed because it was over. It was so good and I could do nothing more than weep because it was done so well)

Lauf's character is not something one can just pin down. It is not unpredictable but it is not what you would expect. This piece conveys that. I listen to this song and I kinda get a montage of some of the silly, funny and childish things Lauf does.

Vethen is a 21,000 year old veteran of a near endless war against the most orrific visions imaginable. In that time he has grown a great respect for life but an even greater respect for experience. He protects those who can not protect themselves and places his shield and his blade between the evil and their prize. He just comes over to me like a bit of an optimus prime so this song kind of feels right for him to me.

I don't know if you can but it would be nice if someone could find this song a home.

Another one for the ebontop. Hauntingly beautiful, and sets the mood for her personality, through a monotonous foundation (this symbolises her zealous devotion to do her duty at all times) but with near-shredded melodies that swerve to both dark and sombre to light and merry. This represents her history, first and foremost.

And, obviously, the Middle Eastern/Egyptian aspect of the music only complements the already strong relation between this song and the ebontop.

Where the songs I linked in an earlier post were more illustrative of specific stages in the ebontop's life (save the unrivaled beauty of "Now We Are Free") this one is more... flexible, so to say. Instead of merely covering her history, or a certain period in her life, this song sums up both personality and background to a good extent.

An alternative theme I often connect to Eyre aside from "Arise" is "Joy" by VnV nation. Whereas the first speaks through the music itself, this one is chosen mostly for its lyrics.

This theme is just epic. It captures the terror of the character and not even a word is spoken in the song... which is good. It lends Alldar no sense of humanity. Near the middle there is a very nice effect that sounds like a hammer on an anvil and that just suits the walking forge that Alldar is perfectly.

This is Kátenka's over all theme song. Why? Because she's playful and flirty when she's in a good mood. She's incredibly easy going and will try and please all that she meets and make them happy. She will sometimes be seen dancing in the Kitchens singing to herself, such is her carefree attitude, despite all the things that she has seen.

And here be a fitting theme song for all the evil and horrible baddies that we have to endure, and indeed have had to endure in past tense.

Hahaha, I swear I've seen characters in the Cathedral who'd act -just- like the first video shows. Possibly that DK who in all seriousness asked Eyre if he could reserve a table in the infirmary for a date. This made my day.
